The ant and the grasshopper

In the fable, the ant works hard on the summer, so he has a comfortable life during the winter. on the oppsite, the grasshopper plays whole summer, then he is suffered by the cold winter. on the other hand, in the short story, it tells us about two brothers' different fate.George works hard on his whole life, but he does not get any rewards from his work. However, Tom always enjoys his life and spends his whole money on enjoyment. He never works hard but he is lucky. Finally he gets a lot of money from his dead wife. Those two stories tell us two oppsite result. The fable emphasizes that people have to work hard then they can get rewards from their work. Other story emphasizes that sometimes even people work hard, they can not get any rewards because it depends on luck.
In my opinion,I think that no gain without pain.Everything has to pay price when you get something that you want. This theory more fits this material society. For example, there are a lot of chinese people immigrant to the United States. They want to get a better life is the only reason that they want to come here. Like one of my friends, He is thirty years old. when he sneaked in the United States, he was 22 years old. He married in China, but his family was poor then he decided to make money to support his family. While he came to America safely, he also owed a lot of money to others. He started to work in chinese restaurant and spend his whole 8 years life in that place. Therefore, he can save money for his family and pay the money that he borrowed from others.Until now, his family immigrants to here and they have a better life. He use his freedom to change his future and he also pays the price on it. However, he gets the life that he wonders for a long time and he thinks that is worth to pay a price.
In conclusion, I still believe that people should have to work hard on their life, but sometimes people also should take a little time to relax. The only thing we can do is that don’t remain any pity to ourselves in this world.

In the fable"the Ant and the Grasshopper", the ant is stroing up the food for the winter when grasshopper is singing  in the summer. During the winter, grasshopper begs ant some food to provide himself. But ant rejects to help him. This fable gives us a idea about someone who works hard will get reward from his work. like ant works hard in the summer then he has a safe winter.  on the other hand, grasshopper is lazy so he is suffered by the winter.
In the artical" the Ant and the Grasshopper" is written by W.Somerset Maugyham. According to the fable, George and Tom  are simmilar as ant and grasshopper. George  works hard for his whole life. Tom is same as grasshopper enjoys his life. Geroge does not get reward from his work hard. He is old and tired. on the other side, Tom is lucky and gets a lot of things from his enjoyment. he is young and energy.
Those two story has two different result. one  is no gain without pain. another one is  that sometimes even if you work hard, you can not get any rewards from your work. It also depends on luck. Accordin to our  realistic society, I believe that no gain without pain. if someone works hard on something, he or she will get benefits from it.

the Ant and Grasshopper

I think both articals express same messages.George has same qualities like the ant and Tom is most like grasshopper. George works hard to save money for his whole life, and the ant prepares food for the winter in the summer days. However,Tom enjoys his life like the grasshopper. Tom uses up his little money to enjoy his life as the grasshopper sang whole summer.

i am an ant.

i would be like an ant. The ant saves  a lot of foods through the winter, he knows that if he works hard, he will get something return. one proverb says that" no gain without pain."  In generally, nothing can  not get without humans put in a lot of hard work. According to that point,i think people should learn ant's spirit which saves a little everyday and prepares for the funture!!!!!!!

the friendship bond

I think the idea of friendship is alive and well. There are many of friendships are not completely reciprocal. The most important qualities of friendship are loyalty, trusty, and honesty. For example, in a satisfying friendship, trust and feeling accepted are two of the most essential components. According to this activities of friendship, there are highest percentages of people who still want to tell their friends about their private things. Another crisis shows that 51 percents of people would turn to friends before family. So people are satisfied with their friendships even some people feel alone sometime.

conflict

When I was in eighth grade, I saw my classmate who was bad temper and had a fight with a teacher. One day, this student played a phone in class when students were taking an exam. After the teacher saw it, he asked this student handed it in. But this student did not listen and respect to this teacher. Then, they argued in a few minutes, they beat each other. Some students thought this event was very serious, so they called counselor to stop that fight. From that on, this student never showed up in this teacher’s class.
In my opinion, i think this event is not resolved. They both are wrong. The student should respect the teacher,The teacher should report this event to school and school will know how to deal with it.

summary of Sunday in the park

The article"Sunday in the Park" is written by Bel Kaufman. This article talks about a couple brings their son to the park on Sunday. When their son plays on sandbox, the other child also plays with it. Suddenly, other child throws a spadeful of sand to their son. The wife wants to stop that child, but the child throws another a spadeful of sand to their son. While she scolds at this child, the child's dad comes here. He thinks his son is doing right thing, so both parents argue with each other except fighting. Then, the couple takes their son to home when their son cries. But this son does not stop crying even louder than before, the husband disciplines on his son and the wife looks him with contempt.
Question:
Does the husband really discipline his son?
What is the meaning of last sentence,"You and who else?"
Why does the couple pulls away those two sandy when they leaves the park?
Interpretation:
I think both parents have their own problem with their children. One side,when the child throws a spadeful of sand to other child, his father has to stop and discipline his child who makes a mistake. On the other side, the couple can not put their angers on their son, they should comfort their son. All in all, children are easy to get hurt. Parents should set a good example to their children because parents' behaviors will affect children a lot.

summary of Henrietta Lacks"

In this book "Hentietta Lacks' immortal ' Cells", the author explains hela cells are very important in science and how this cells help people cure diseases. She finds out the woman behind the hela cells and she wants to know more informations about Henrietta,so she tries to contact with Henrietta's family. She also talks about the Lacks' family that how they know hela cells and deal with them.
Interpretation:
This article analyses intensively. It is easy to read and understand the whole article. I like this article because it gives me simple informations that about Hela cells. When i read the book, i feel headache all about science that i am not interested in. After i read this article, i found the author's a few processes to write this book. It explains very clearly about the relationship between the Lack's family and Hela cells.

summary137-176

By the 1960s, Hela cells are growing everywhere. Scientists use those cells in different researches.George Hyatt works with Hela's phenomenon firsthand, he cultures human skin cells for treating wound.Also French researchers discover that somatic cell fusion or cell sex at that time. In 1965, two British scientists Henry Harris and John Watkins take animal cells sex into Hela cells, create the first human-animal hybrids.Soon after New York University discover that human hybrids is unprofessional production.When Deborah was sixteen years old, she got pregnant and birth the first child. She married a person who was a drunk and often beats her. After she birth second child,she can not stand that life so she moves out that house with her children.Deborah's older brother is doing fine with his family. But another brother,Joe who killed a person and stayed in prison for a long time. In 1966, Stanley Gartler points out that there are 18 cells line contaminated by Hela. When Writer meets Henrietta's son, Sony again, he brings writer to his brother's house. At there, she saw Henrietta's husband Day and son Larwence and they have a clear conversation about Hela cells. They also say how the night doctor treats on black people. In 1970, Gey got a pancreatic cancer. He wants his cell like as Henrietta's cells immortal so he finds some scientists to research his cells. However, it is not successful. He died November 8 1970. When the article use Henrietta's on the newspaper, the Lack's family knows Henrietta's cell still alive.
Impression: Finally, people know who is the woman behind the Hela cells. She is Henrietta Lacks.
Question:why Gey agrees to publish the Henrietta's real name in the newspaper after he died?

freewrite on reading

I am a person who do not like read a book very much. When I read a book, I usually lied down the bed and read amount of pages, I fall in sleep. Also, this book is really difficult; it has a lot of scientific words that I do not understand. Sometime, I read a book which I understand the whole meaning .however; when I read carefully; I found a lot of details that I do not know.

After Henrietta's death for a while, there is a plane for Hela cells factory. The biggest problem is polio epidemic in the end of 1951.NFIP contacts with Doc. Gey for help. In April 1952, Gey and his colleague who from NFIP found what exactly Hela cells was.They send Hela cells to different place for scientists to research and experiment. Tuskegee Center supplys Hela cells to Polio testing lab and there is also a Hela production factory.Later, those researchers and scientists expose Hela cells to viruses of all kind, they study how each one enter cells,reproduce, and spread. Hela cells get successful experiment.In1953,Gey takes Hela cells to study hemorrhagic fever, which was killing American troops at Far East.Pomerat suggests that Gey should be done Hela research before it is publiced to society. When Minneapolis Star interviews GEY about Hela cells, he decides to take out Henrietta's real name and use other name to instead.Even other scientists disagree with him.Finally, Helen Lane is instead of Henrietta's name appear on the magazine.
After Henrietta's funeral, cousins take care of her children when Day is working on two jobs. The biggest son of Henrietta,Lawrence drops out the school and he serves two years in a medic unit at Fort Belvoir when he was 16 years old. At this time, Ethel moves in the house and takes care of those children.But she does not take any responsibility to them,she even abuses and often beats them. In 1959,Lawrence and his girlfriend move in a new house. They find Ethel who had been beat Deborah and his brothers. They pick them to her own house. While Deborah was 10 years old, Ethel's Husband tried to have a sex with her. She againsts him and she is afraid to tell anyboday about that. When she asks her dad about her mom and sister, Day never gives her answer and he only can say she is too young to remember.
Author visits Henrietta's cousin,Cliff brings her to Henrietta's graveyard. He also tells author about Henrietta's family history.
Hela cells are growing well in laboratories around the world. Southam wants to inject cancer cells on humans when Gey and several others had already shown that some rats grew tumor with Hela cells. He injects those cancer cells on 25 volunteers body and prisoners in 1956. The worst thing is he does not tell anybody that they are injected by cancer cells.In 1947 8,20, Sixteen years earlier U.S led war tribunal in Nuremberg which uses humans in laboratory. In 1954, there is no formal research oversight in the United States.
Impression:
The scientists lost their humanity when they injected Hela cells into human' s body!
Question:
Does the county has a law to stop this action, which scientists inject cancer cells to human's body?

Henrietta's son, Sonny finally agrees to meet the author in Baltimore. When the author goes there, he does not show up. She grabs a phone book of Lack's family and she tries to contract with those people who know about Henrietta. Then, she goes to Tunner station where Henrietta lived before. She finds a person,Courtney who knows about Henrietta, but she can not talk Henrietta's story without Lacks' family permission. And she also provides some tapes about Henrietta and Hela cells to author.The author thinks she needs to visit Clever and finds Henrietta's cousins.At Clever, she meets Henrietta's cousin, Cootie who tells author about how great and kind a woman that Henrietta is.
At hospital, Henrietta's body is full with tumors. Even tumors spread to her organs. When Henrietta needs transfusion, her cousins and her friends go to Hopkins to help her. Soon after they visited, Henrietta died in October 4 1951.When Day heard his wife died, he and his cousins went to Hopkins.Doctor asked Day to agree for an autopsy and he agreed and signed a autopsy form. After Day agreed, the Gey lab people cut out Henrietta's organs and collect samples to research them. A few days later, Henrietta's funeral in Clever. That day is raining. When they lower Henrietta's coffin into grave, the heavy storm come with wind that burns tobacco fields.
Impression:
Everyone experiences same birth and death. But some people can do a significant thing when they live or died. Like Henrietta, she dedicated her cells to society and provided a chance to scientists research cells then found a medicine to cure diseases. People should remember Henrietta.
Question:
Why does Day agree to sign autopsy form?

Summary pages(1-33)
The author is interested in Herrietta Lacks who is given the first immortal human cell. When she first learn about Hela cells on biology class, her instructor tells that Herrietta Lack's cells are the most important thing that in medicine.
The author consults a lot of magazines and articles about Herrietta Lack's family and Herrietta. She decides to write a book about Herrietta lack. This book is not only write cells in science; it also writes Herrietta's life.
The author meets Herrietta's daughter, she provides more true stories to author. This book is the result.
Herrietta finds herself does not feel right and her husband takes her to see a doctor. A doctor identifys she gets cervix canner.
When Herritta's mother died,her father does not want to take care of his tenth children. He sends them to his relatives.Herrietta is adopted by her grandfather,Tommy when she was four years old.Tommy also adopted a child who named David and he was 5 years older than Herritta.
Tommy has a field that plant tobaccos.Herrietta and David are in the field with their cousins when they are out of school.
As they grow older, Herrietta married with David. When Herrietta was 14 years old, she had the first baby.
When world war11 came, David follows his cousin to work on Tunner Station. Later, Herrietta moves to Tunner Station.
Herrietta goes to Hopins hospital. Doctors diagnosis that she gets cervix canner.
Doctors think about how to treat her disease. They cut two parts of cell from her body. One is from her tumor's cell, other one is from healthy cervical tissue. They start do a lot of experiments from her cells.
Impression:
Herritta's event reminds me about my uncle. He was died stomach cancer.
At that time, i saw he was tortured by this disease. The whole body lost a lot of weight.
Until he died, he did not feel a little bit happy. So i think we should protect our body,
we should have good habits of living. At least, we are not sorry for ourself.
Question:
How did Herrietta feel when she know she get cervix canner?

How does woman prevent this disease?
